Berlin, the final stop on a honeymoon around the world: Josh (Ben Lloyd-Hughes) and Zofia (Jenny Walser) from New York are looking for the ultimate thrill – a night at the techno club “Reaktor”. A tough door policy, pounding bass – finally, they’re in! Suddenly, Zofia disappears into the crowd. An emergency text from the club staff and a dramatic night in the hospital follow. There, Josh learns the next morning that his wife has died.

In the waiting room, Rosa (Lisa Vicari) witnesses the tragedy and offers the devastated tourist her help. Like Josh, she can’t believe that Zofia could have died from “a little ecstasy”. But what really happened? At her newspaper, Rosa is known for her compelling portraits and investigative features, for her ability to get close to people and look beyond the obvious. In the course of her research, the journalist comes across Paula (Paula Kober), a member of the club staff. She is none other than the daughter of the highly connected real estate investor Brenner (Jens Harzer), whom Rosa’s boyfriend Mark (Jerry Hoffmann), an ambitious spokesperson for the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, is courting for a major development project.

The more Rosa learns about the charismatic former civil rights activist, the more she sees a story in him. While Brenner tries to stop the reporter, she delves deeper into the dark side of Berlin’s myths.
