2. Website Hosting and Technical Data
This website is built and hosted using Squarespace. When you visit the website, technical information may be processed to provide, maintain and secure the website.
This information may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device information, requested pages, date and time of access, referrer information and technical log data.
Squarespace may process this information to provide its hosting services, maintain website functionality, detect technical problems and protect the website against misuse.
The legal basis for this processing is my legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional and professionally maintained portfolio website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where consent is legally required for specific processing activities, the relevant processing must be based on valid consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Further information is available in the Squarespace Privacy Policy.
3. Squarespace Analytics and Activity Log
This website uses Squarespace Analytics to obtain information about website traffic and visitor interactions. Depending on the features and settings used, this may include page views, visits, traffic sources and other information about how visitors use the website.
Squarespace also provides an Activity Log that can display information about individual visits. This may include IP addresses, approximate locations derived from IP addresses, browser and operating system information, timestamps and referrer information.
The Activity Log is currently enabled on this website. Information displayed in the Activity Log may therefore be processed in addition to aggregated website statistics.
I use this information to understand how the website is used, maintain its functionality and improve the presentation of my portfolio. The legal basis may be my legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where consent is legally required for analytics cookies or similar technologies, the relevant processing must be based on valid consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
The website’s cookie banner allows visitors to manage their cookie preferences and reject non-essential cookies. However, these settings do not necessarily prevent every connection to third-party services embedded in the website.
Further information is available in the Squarespace Privacy Policy and Squarespace Cookie Information.
4. Contact Form and Email Enquiries
If you contact me through the website’s contact form or by email, I process the information you provide, such as your name, email address and message, to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, discuss potential collaborations or professional projects.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to steps taken before entering into a contract or to the performance of a contract. In other cases, processing may be based on my legitimate interest in responding to professional enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Contact form submissions may be processed by Squarespace as part of providing the website and its form functionality.
I retain enquiries only for as long as necessary to respond to them, manage the relevant professional communication or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your message unless it is necessary for your enquiry.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for its operation, security and basic functionality. Depending on the services and features used, additional cookies or similar technologies may be associated with analytics, video playback, security or third-party content.
The website’s cookie banner allows visitors to manage their preferences and reject non-essential cookies. The Squarespace setting for non-essential cookies is configured to “Restrict”.
These settings are intended to limit the use of non-essential cookies. However, they do not necessarily block every request to an external provider or prevent all third-party technologies from loading. In particular, embedded video players may establish connections to their providers when a page loads, even if a visitor has rejected non-essential cookies.
Where consent is legally required for cookies or similar technologies, the relevant technologies must not be used for the relevant purpose before valid consent has been obtained.
You can manage your cookie preferences through the website’s cookie settings. You can also adjust your browser settings to control or delete cookies. Blocking certain cookies may affect some website features.
Further information is available in the Squarespace Cookie Information.
6. Videos and External Video Services
This website contains video content relating to films and audiovisual projects on which I have worked. Videos may be uploaded directly to Squarespace or embedded from third-party providers, including YouTube, Vimeo and other video services.
Videos hosted on Squarespace
Videos uploaded directly to Squarespace are hosted and delivered through Squarespace’s infrastructure and may be distributed through content delivery services.
When these videos are accessed, technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, and information about the requested content may be processed to deliver the video and maintain the website’s functionality and security.
Embedded third-party videos
Embedded videos may be provided by YouTube, Vimeo or other external video services.
When an embedded video is loaded, the relevant provider may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and information about the page you are visiting. Depending on the provider and the way the video is embedded, cookies or similar technologies may also be used for video playback, security, analytics or the storage of player preferences.
During technical checks of this website, requests to Vimeo’s player domain, player.vimeo.com, were observed before playback with the relevant video block configuration. Cookie entries were also visible in the browser’s developer tools. The exact purpose and origin of every displayed cookie have not been independently verified.
Connections to third-party video providers may occur before a visitor starts playing a video. Rejecting non-essential cookies through the website’s cookie banner does not necessarily prevent all such connections.
Where consent is legally required for third-party content or related technologies, the relevant processing must be based on valid consent. This Privacy Policy explains potential data processing but does not itself replace any consent that may be required.
For further information, please consult the relevant providers’ privacy policies:
• YouTube and Google Privacy Policy
• Vimeo Privacy Policy
7. Images and Portfolio Content
This website displays portrait photographs, film stills, set photographs and other visual materials related to my work as a freelance Sound Designer and Re-Recording Mixer. Some images may show identifiable individuals, including myself, filmmakers, cast members, crew members or other collaborators.
The images are hosted on or delivered through Squarespace. In this context, technical data such as your IP address and device or browser information may be processed to display the images.
Where images show identifiable individuals, personal data may be processed to present my professional portfolio and document my creative work. The applicable legal basis depends on the circumstances and may include my legitimate interest in presenting my professional work and artistic contributions (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), subject to the rights and interests of the individuals concerned.
Copyright, image rights and any required permissions for the use of photographs, film stills and other visual materials are separate from the technical processing described in this policy. Where applicable, the use of such materials is subject to the relevant rights and permissions.
If you have questions or concerns about an image or other portfolio material displayed on this website, please contact me at l.kischk@gmx.de.
8. External Links
This website contains links to external websites and online services, including external video platforms and institutional websites.
The mere presence of an ordinary external link does not normally load the linked website’s content or transmit your personal data to that website. When you click an external link, your browser accesses the destination website, and technical information may be transmitted to its operator.
I have no control over the content or data processing practices of external websites. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies to your subsequent visit. Please consult that policy for further information.
Embedded content, such as video players that load directly on this website, is addressed separately in Section 6.
9. Recipients and International Data Transfers
Personal data may be processed by Squarespace and other service providers where necessary to host, maintain, secure and operate this website or provide the services described in this policy.
When third-party video content is embedded, the relevant video provider may also process personal data as described in Section 6.
Depending on the service provider and its infrastructure, personal data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as the European Union.
Where required, appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as an adequacy decision or suitable contractual safeguards, must be in place in accordance with applicable data protection law.
Further details about the data processing practices of individual providers are available in their respective privacy policies.
10. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable legal obligations.
Technical logs, analytics information and contact enquiries may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose, the relevant service settings and applicable legal requirements.
Where data is no longer required and there is no legal obligation to retain it, it will be deleted or otherwise appropriately disposed of.
11. Your Data Protection Rights
Under the GDPR, you may have the following rights, subject to the applicable legal requirements:
• Right of access: to request information about the personal data I process about you.
• Right to rectification: to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Right to erasure: to request deletion of your personal data where the legal requirements are met.
• Right to restriction of processing: to request that processing be restricted in certain circumstances.
• Right to data portability: to receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, where applicable.
• Right to object: to object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation, where the legal requirements are met.
• Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
• Right to lodge a complaint: to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe that your personal data has been processed unlawfully.
To exercise your rights, please contact me at l.kischk@gmx.de.
12. Supervisory Authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
As I am based in Berlin, you may contact the:
Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information

13. Further Information
